Dear PS 84 Families,

We hope that each of you are safe and healthy, and in good spirits!

As you may have recently learned, Governor Andrew Cuomo has canceled Spring Break for all New York State public schools.  We must plan and be fully prepared for the duration of the school year. Our teachers will need to collaborate for planning units of study in scope and sequence and work on the various means of instruction. Th...

Dear All,

With all this remote learning, it is critical that everyone takes the time to just sit down and read. It's something that doesn't come easy in our modern world of internet and fast-paced stimuli.

We really need to teach our children what reading "looks" like so they can build reading stamina.

Please look at the video series offered for free below.

They are an investment of time that will have a long term pay-off.

Dear PS 84 Families,

We hope this letter finds everyone well and safe during this Coronavirus crisis. As we all are trying to maintain some sort of normalcy in our lives, which is by no means an easy accomplishment, it is important to make sure we keep both our minds and bodies healthy. I do hope everyone is being kind to themselves and not stressing over not being able to continue life exactly as it was p...

Dear PS 84 Families,

On behalf of our school staff and myself, I would like to take a moment to connect with you during this time of uncertainty to convey our continued commitment to our students and families. Dear PS 84 Lion Family,

I love sharing with you just one more example of how our incredible school lives up to its mission of preparing our chldren to be effective global citizens of tomorrow.

Yesterday, students in Ms. Beazer's class talked about soil as an essential component to life on Earth, not just for the plants it provides us, but also for its role in the water cycle as a filter for our drinking water. Students con...

On Wednesday, November 27, in keeping with our school tradition, all classrooms will partake in a community Thanksgiving Feast.  Student desks will line the corridors outside of the classrooms, where the ch...

Dear PS 84 Family,

Happy New Year to all!

As we find ourselves starting the New Year, it is most appropriate to set some new goals.

Starting this month, PS 84 is taking formal strides to get all our students in the practice of respecting and taking care of not only their minds, but their bodies as well.

Mr. Arnold and Mr. Steier have set in motion a multi-step plan to promote health and wellness. Beginning with communicating every...

Dear PS 84 Community,

Lateness for all grades has become a serious issue at school during morning arrivals.

In order to help mitigate this, the school has deemed it necessary to remind parents that children Pre –k through 5th Grade should begin arriving at school at 8:10 AM.

Arrival procedures will remain the same.

Upon entering our building, all Pre-K students must be brought directly to their classrooms.

Kindergarten, First, and...
