Timeless Teachings in a Changing World
All the wonderful learning experiences offered here at PS 84 would not be possible without the hard work and support of our dedicated staff, teachers, parents, and neighboring organizations. PS 84’s partnerships with local institutions such as the Frick Collection, the American Folk Art Museum, the Museum of Natural History, the New York Historical Society, enable us to bring learning to life, where students get to hear, see, feel, and connect to what they learn in the classroom.
Along with learning different languages, academic subjects, music, the arts, physical fitness, and the positive qualities of good citizenship, our students learn about plants, plant life, and the environment through our Urban Roots program. As partners in the Wellness in the Schools Food program, our students get to plant plants that produce fruits and vegetables and then get to harvest what they grow. And, a new found appreciation is cultivated for healthy eating as students enjoy eating the harvest of the produce they grew!
